This song will get stuck in your head! It’s this week’s Throwback Thursday (just in case you missed it!)

It’s actually a sample from the Andrew Oldham Orchestra arrangement of a Rolling Stones song called The Last Time. The Verve used it in their hit Bitter Sweet Symphony. This song became the lead single from their album Urban Hymns, which was released in 1997, and went on to become one of the best selling albums ever in the UK. Click [here] for more info!

We’ve been all over Alt-J since they crossed the pond, and we’re really glad that others are taking notice too- including Mumford & Sons, whom just recently performed a cover of “Tessellate” on BBC Radio 1.

Green Day’s new album ¡Uno! is set to release later today and in anticipation, the band has released the official video for the track “Stay The Night” off of the album. It’s a very simple video that features Billie Joe Armstrong and his longtime band mates Mike Dirnt and Trés Cool play through the song during, what seems to be, rehearsal.

BLOOPER!

Here’s a really short and sweet video of The Sheepdogs before their show in Toronto for the Canadian Club Mixed & Ready event. These guys are hilarious, and really laid back. Everyone makes mistakes like this in “the biz” and we’re just glad these guys are humble enough to still have a good laugh.

The Sheepdogs in Toronto, before their show at Echo Beach.

Canadian Club Mixed & Ready brought together some of the greatest bands currently in Canadian rock at Echo Beach in Toronto. The night started with Zeus, The Sadies and Yukon Blonde, and finishing up the night we heard from the headliners, The Sheepdogs. Definitely a memorable night that did not disappoint.

When it came time to make a video for their latest single, they ran out of ideas! Leaving the final product of this video, to consist of live and backstage footage of the band. Essentially the video is a live performance, but Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney admit that, “There was a story line but it didn’t work”. The video is really a visual representation of their psychedelic inspired rock. Check out the official video for The Black Key’s single Little Black Submarine below! Enjoy!
